Dr. Abhishek Mitra is a Senior Consultant and Unit Head in Gastrointestinal (GI) and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgical Oncology with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and surgical management of gastrointestinal cancers and complex GI disorders. He is currently associated with Paras Health, Gurugram, where he leads the GI and HPB Oncosurgery program.
He completed his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, followed by an MS in General Surgery from Lady Hardinge Medical College. He further specialized with a DNB in Surgical Gastroenterology from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and earned a prestigious postdoctoral HBNI Fellowship in GI and HPB Oncology from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai—one of India's leading cancer institutes.
