Ideas
Common Uses for QR Codes in India
QR codes are now part of how Indian businesses meet their customers. Some practical ideas:
Local business listings
Use the GetBusiness Listing type on your shop window, bill or visiting card so customers can save your number, see timings and read reviews.
Google reviews
Put a Google Review QR on the counter and ask happy customers to scan it before they leave.
UPI payments
Make a UPI QR with your UPI ID and, if you like, a fixed amount and note.
WhatsApp orders
One scan opens a chat with your number and a ready message. Ideal for menus, flyers and delivery bags.
Education and coaching centres
Share WiFi access, admission forms or timetable PDFs without anyone typing a long link.
Clinics and services
A vCard QR lets patients and clients save your name, phone and address in one scan.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes. There is no premium tier, no watermark and no usage cap. The tool is funded by GetBusiness’s paid listing plans, and the QR generator itself will always be free for everyone.
Does GetBusiness store the QR codes I create?
No. The QR code is made in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers, and we don’t log or keep any QR content. Saved presets stay in your own browser.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. These are static QR codes: the content is inside the code itself, so it works forever with no subscription. If the link behind it changes, make a new code.
Can I make a UPI payment QR code?
Yes. Choose UPI Payment, enter your UPI ID and payee name, and optionally a fixed amount and note. The code opens in any UPI app. Always scan it once and check the name shown before you print it.
Can I add my logo to the QR code?
Yes. In step 3, upload your logo and it is placed in the centre of the code. The tool switches error correction to H (30%) so the code still scans, and warns you if the logo is too large.
Which file format should I download?
PNG is best for WhatsApp, social media, websites and email. JPEG gives a smaller file for documents. SVG is a vector format, ideal for printers and large banners, standees or packaging, because it scales without losing quality.
Are QR codes generated here compatible with all smartphones?
Yes. The codes follow the ISO/IEC 18004 QR Code standard and scan with the normal camera app on Android and iPhone, plus Google Lens and UPI apps. No extra app is needed.
Can I use the QR code for commercial purposes?
Yes. QR codes you make here are yours to use for personal projects, client work or commercial products. No attribution is needed.
How many QR codes can I create?
As many as you like. Click Reset to start a new code, or save a design as a preset to reuse your colours and logo next time.
What is error correction and which level should I use?
Error correction lets a QR code still scan when part of it is covered or damaged. L (7%) for codes shown only on a clean screen, M (15%) as a good default for print, Q (25%) for outdoor signs or stickers, and H (30%) when you place a logo over the centre.
Ready to Get Your Business Found?
A QR code is only as good as the page it opens. Give every code you print a complete, trusted business listing to land on.
Checking a new supplier? You can also use the GST verification tool.
